History of School

Our History

Located at the Lap of Bhaleydhunga and surrounded by lush green forest and beautiful ambience, PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Yangang, Namchi Sikkim(Popularly called as Yangang School or Yangang SSS) is an attraction to children pursuing school education. It is a State government run school, under Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim.

With a vision to cater education to the village children, the School was established in 1934 by some far-sighted gentries of the locality who perceived the importance of education in human life. Since then the school continuously striving for providing quality education to each and every child admitted in the school.

The School was upgraded to Secondary level in 1980 and affiliated itself with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Again, in the year 1996, the school was upgraded to Senior Secondary Level.

Since its establishment, Yangang SSS has been catering education to the children from Yangang, Namphok, Menglee, Pathing, Niya, Mangzing, Lingee, Lingmoo and many more surrounding villages and hemlets and has enough reason to be proud to have seen its alumni as top class professional, civil servants, politicians, teachers, entrepreneur and many more.
